Overview

Following successful formal tender, Sellick Partnership were appointed as approved suppliers to Luton Borough Council’s DPS in September 2020 primarily for finance and legal recruitment needs. 

Account Management

We assigned an Account Management Team to Luton Borough Council aligned with their recruitment needs to ensure specialist support was aligned with our Consultant’s expertise and networks. The Account Manager for the Finance team is Rebecca Dawson, Senior Consultant. Rebecca has over 7 years recruitment experience, and specialises in finance recruitment across the Home Counties. 

Approach

  • Gathering a detailed understanding of each requirement through job briefing call/meetings to supplement job descriptions and person specifications.
  • Designing a bespoke attraction campaigns across both our established candidate databases and generating new talent through headhunting and referrals. 
  • Conducting selection processes to align the candidates to both the vacancy and to the organisation.
  • Working with hiring managers to arrange interviews and take/give feedback. 
  • Supporting with on-boarding and contract management post placement. 

Outcome

Placements relevant to this PSL include a Capital Accountant, Systems Accountant, Close Down Project Lead and Principal Finance Business Partner. These roles vary from financial management and financial accounts. The capital, year-end lead and financial accountant roles are all centred around technical accounting, which is a niche skill set, these skills can include capital accounts, systems, treasury, collection fund, leading on producing the statement of accounts, agreement of balances, accruals, financial reporting, financial and risk control. Candidates should also have a strong local authority background and who would usually be available either straight away or within two weeks. Successfully placing these contracts requires us to continuously maintain awareness of specialist contractors within the area and manage the placement of these contractors to the benefit of our customers. 

We have also placed a number of legal roles including Employment Lawyer, Litigation Legal Officer, Principal Accountant and Housing Lawyer.
