Sellick Partnership is pleased to be recruiting for a locum Prosecutions and Licensing Lawyer on behalf of a well-established London Local Authority.

The council is offering an initial 3 month contract but has said this is likely to be extended on a rolling basis pending permanent recruitment. This role is full-time, and the successful Prosecutions Lawyer will ideally be able to attend the office once per week.

This role will be the perfect opportunity for someone who wants a variety of work and will offer a complex caseload of criminal litigation matters. This role also provides the opportunity to conduct advocacy in court.

The role will involve the following, but is not limited to:

  • Acting on Prosecutions, including Trading Standards, Education, Planning & Environmental Health

  • Conducting advocacy and acting on proceedings
  • Licensing

  • Advice to councillors, officers and committees

The successful Prosecutions Lawyer is required to be a fully qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx) and ideally from a Local Government background.
