Sellick Partnership is proud to be working with Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council on an exclusive basis for the recruitment into their legal team. We are looking for a Principal Property and Projects Lawyer to join the team at a really exciting time.

Key responsibilities of the Principal Property and Projects Lawyer role:

  • Directly line managing 1 Senior Property Lawyer and 1 Development Lawyer, who are responsible for the management of 6 Lawyers and 2 Legal Assistants.
  • Assisting the team with complex commercial and residential property matters, including leading on major project work such as Glassworks and Alhambra shopping centres.
  • Be a part of the Senior Management Team for the Legal Services.
  • Dealing with case allocation for the team.
  • Dealing with 1:1s and HR issues relating to the team.
  • Leading on improvement of the team with policies and procedures, looking at standard processes and reporting against performance indicators.

Experience required for the Principal Projects and Property Lawyer role: 

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive
  • Experience of leading on major projects
  • Management experience would be desirable
