Sellick Partnership is excited to be recruiting exclusively for Barnsley Council's legal services team and an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Principal Adults Solicitor to join the team on a permanent basis.

This role will be an amazing chance for someone who is looking to step up into a Principal role and will provide you with the opportunity to take lead on complex care matters, alongside the training and development of a busy and growing adults team. This is a newly created position and provides a chance to really put your stamp and name to something!

The duties of the successful Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer role will include:

  • Directly line managing 1 Senior Lawyer, 1 Adult Lawyer and 1 Legal Assistant.
  • Be a part of the Senior Management Team for the Legal Services.
  • Assisting the team with complex adult social care cases.
  • Dealing with case allocation for the team.
  • Dealing with 1:1s and HR issues relating to the team.
  • Leading on improvement of the team with policies and procedures, looking at standard processes and reporting against performance indicators.

Experience required for the Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer role:

For this role you must be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister. We are keen to hear from candidates that have a good understanding of adult social care law but previous management experience isn't essential.

This role will provide you with the perfect opportunity to prove yourself in a dynamic team environment.
