Role: Payroll Team Leader

Type: 3-6 months contract

Rate: £18.63 per hour

Working Pattern: Hybrid - Hybrid 2-3 days on-site

Location: Kent

Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for an Payroll Team Leader for our Public Sector client based in Kent.

The Ideal candidate will support the Payroll and Pensions Manager, delivering agreeed services to the full satisfaction of all clients and meeting statutory, regulatory, legislative and performance requirements. The appointed candidate will be a payroll professional who can make day to day decisions, be a competent managaer and work as part of a team ensuring all team member are trained regularly to make sure consistency across the Payroll and Pensions team.

Key responsibilities for the Payroll Team Leader are;

  • Perform end-to-end payroll processing as needed during payroll cycles.
  • Directly manage and inspire a small team of three, providing guidance and support, assuring multi-functionality, competence, flexibility, and meeting operational expectations to deliver a high-quality service from home and office locations
  • Conduct monthly 1:1 meetings with direct reporting to identify suitable targets and metrics.
  • Ensure timely and accurate task delivery in accordance with payroll deadlines. When giving counsel or guidance, use your professional knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll & Pensions Manager to enhance service efficiency and meet user and stakeholder needs
  • Oversee computerized payrolls with personal information for all staff on an integrated HR and Payroll system.

The Ideal candidate for the Payroll Team Leader will:

  • Have experience within public sector would be benefical
  • Have experience using ResourceLink HRIS would be benefical
  • Have CIPP or comparable payroll qualification, as well as considerable relevant experience.
  • Have line management experience
