  • £40 - £48 per hour
  • London
  • Locum
  • Legal, Local Government & Public Sector

We are pleased to be recruiting to an exciting opportunity for a part-time Locum Employment Lawyer to join a well-regarded Council in South London.

This assignment will be an initial 3-6 month contract, with a view to rolling into an ongoing long term contract.

Our client is ideally looking to recruit a part-time Employment Lawyer with local government, or public sector experience, who is knowledgeable in employment law and can join the friendly team and hit the ground running.

Duties will include:

  • Dealing with a wide range of employment matters, including:
    • Discrimination
    • Disciplinaries
    • TUPE
    • Redundancies
    • Unfair dismissals
  • Possible advocacy for Preliminary Hearings
  • Employment Tribunal claims

The successful Employment Lawyer will benefit from:

  • Long term locum assignment
  • Highly competitive rate
  • Flexible working arrangements (the role is for 3 days per week but there can be some flexibility around this)
  • Genuinely friendly and supportive team

This role would be suited to a Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister who is confident dealing with a mixed Employment caseload with minimum supervision. The successful candidate may be required to attend Courts or Tribunals, but can also instruct Counsel, so advocacy is not essential. Our client is looking for someone to attend the office one day per week, so this role would suit an Employment Lawyer who can get to the offices in South London. Attendance at Tribunals would only be required at final hearing stage and this would not be often.

We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Rayhaneh Tehrani in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.

Sellick Partnership is proud to be an inclusive and accessible recruitment business and we support applications from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances.
