About the Company:

Sellick Partnership are currently working with a major subsidiary of one of the world's largest reinsurance companies, who are looking for a Legal Counsel to join them on a permanent basis.

The successful Legal Counsel will be joining a supportive in-house legal team and have the ability to work closely with a trainee solicitor on the team. The Legal Counsel will be able to work flexibly out of the company's office in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Counsel with experience in insurance and corporate law to join one of the world's largest insurance businesses, which will offer further opportunities for progression down the line. This position will also give the Legal Counsel the opportunity to work closer with senior leadership and stakeholders of the insurance business.

As a Legal Counsel, your role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Providing legal advice and support on a range of matters including primary insurance law, corporate law, and commercial law
  • Supporting the legal function with corporate governance related matters
  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing Data Use Agreements and insurance distribution services with third parties

Experience and Qualifications required by the Insurance Company:

  • Legal qualification, ideally UK qualified
  • Knowledge in UK insurance law, financial services regulation and markets.
  • Demonstrated experience in insurance regulatory and corporate law, with contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience in corporate governance matters in a financial service regulated firm
  • Work in large projects
  • Knowledge of SII requirements and experience in dispute resolution, arbitration, data protection or insurance regulatory environment outside of the UK is desirable but not essential
