Junior Commercial Contracts Lawyer

Sellick Partnership is working on behalf of one of our very good University clients for the position of a junior commercial contracts lawyer. This is genuinely a fantastic opportunity for a newly/recently qualified lawyer to expand and develop their commercial skills and knowledge in what will be an extremely varied inhouse role.

The successful applicant will work primarily on contractual review and negotiation for supplier matters and in education collaborations across the University and assist in the provision of legal services under supervision, in other areas of law as they arise from time to time.

Duties will include:

  • The provision of legal and advisory services to aid management decisions in commercial and contractual matters. Matters will include supplier t & c's, non-disclosure agreements and contracts for goods and services.
  • To contribute to University-wide projects.
  • To draft documents, reports, briefings and presentations and deliver the same as required.
  • To develop and provide assistance in drafting University-wide documentation including policies, guidelines, regulations, legal and other statutory documents.

Person specification:

  • Admission to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales or membership as a CILEX Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience within commercial contracts alongside up-to-date knowledge of data protection and freedom of information law.

The successful applicant will join a small and welcoming commercial team and have the support of the wider team which includes senior lawyers.

This is a hybrid working role whereby you will ideally attend the office twice per week with the remainder available for home working.
