Information Management and Governance Officer

6 month fixed-term contract, full time

£44,102 (pro-rata'd)

Bristol (Hybrid working, 1 day in the office per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced information governance specialist to join a Central Government regulatory body who are looking for an Information Management and Governance Officer to join their team on an initial 6 fixed-term contract.

Working with the Governance Team, the post holder will be required to plan, develop, manage and deliver the information management and governance programme for both core mission and administrative records.

Key Responsibilities of the Information Management and Governance Officer:

  • Advising on data protection, FOI, records management and information security
  • Ensuring the organisation has robust information governance and management policies and supporting procedures in place,
  • Improving the management of information in accordance with legislation and internal policies
  • Help ensure the organisation complies with Information Rights and Data Protection legislation

Required skills of the Information Management and Governance Officer:

Essential:

  • Relevant experience of working in information management and governance and/or suitably qualified
  • Good strategic awareness of the connections between various information access and management legislation
  • An ability to disseminate and embed best practice in information management and governance within the organisation
  • Create new and imaginative approaches to work-related issues. Identifies fresh approaches and shows a willingness to question traditional assumptions and practices
  • Experience of setting up / managing records management systems and processes

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the role of this organisation and how information management and governance should develop in the context of its work
  • Experience of managing information within a SharePoint environment
