An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance to work for a renowned public sector organisation in Manchester on fixed term basis. Working alongside the Director of International Development you will provide operational and strategic support on all financial matters.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Finance:

  • Support and advise on the development of new programmes from concept to delivery
  • Development of relationships with internal stakeholders, including the international centres, faculties and also with potential external partnerships.
  • To provide advice and guidance to colleagues, on financial modelling of online blended and transnational programmes and the efficient use of resources and compliance in the UK and internationally
  • Document and manage the multi- currency, multi programme pricing strategy across online, blended and transnational programmes in association with the state of the market reports, market research and benchmarking.
  • To actively work with the Head of Development, Director of International Development and international Centre Directors to develop financial awareness and understanding and help them to drive the appropriate actions to achieve revenue growth.
  • To work with the Head of Development, Director of International Development and the international Centre Directors in all financial planning, budget and forecast processes and consolidate results for Development.
  • To oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts across two finance systems to tight deadlines and to review and challenge results.
  • Develop and present insightful management information, KPIs and financial analysis for numerous audiences.

Required skills and experience of the Head of Finance:

  • Holds a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Experience of working with complex international financial processes and multiple currencies
  • Able to manage projects and operations within budget and within a demanding environment
  • Experience of working within finance in a large, complex organisation demonstrating ability to work collaboratively and proactively across organisational boundaries
  • Experienced in leading, managing and developing teams with the ability to think in strategic terms and exercise leadership
  • Proven ability to drive and support change through a complex organisation and implement continuous improvement being proactive in generating new ideas, seeing and seizing opportunities and able to create and communicate plans
  • Strong analytical skills to enable production of meaningful financial reporting and convert data to management information easily understood by non-accountants
  • The capacity to innovate and support change management
