Sellick Partnership is excited to be working with a Legal 500 ranked firm in Manchester City Centre who are looking for an Employment Lawyer to join their team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing for employment tribunal cases, including preparation of Claim/Response, Employment Tribunal Applications etc
  • Advocacy in employment tribunals
  • Providing day to day support to HR teams as an integral member of the client's service delivery team
  • HR project work on restructurings, redundancies and TUPE
  • Drafting correspondence to the Employment Tribunal, opposing Solicitors, witnesses, ACAS, client advice.
  • General advice - e.g. conduct of disciplinary investigations; grievance procedures; redundancy programmes; general queries about flexible working, maternity rights, paternity rights, etc.
  • Corporate support

The successful candidate:

  • At least two years of employment law experience in a commercial practice
  • Strong technical and market knowledge
  • Experience providing strategic employment law advice
  • Handling complex employment tribunal claims
  • Dealing with cross-border issues
  • Experience in restructuring and redundancy matters
  • Managing complex grievances at a senior level, including discrimination and whistleblowing complaints
  • Handling senior executive/boardroom issues
  • Strong academic background
  • Technically strong with excellent legal knowledge
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of large international firms
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Desire to help grow the team and contribute to cross-office initiatives
