We are currently working with a Legal 500 ranked firm in Reading that is looking for a talented Construction Lawyer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and experienced Construction law professional to join a dynamic and supportive team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on legal issues and taking instructions.

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.

  • Attending meetings and negotiating with opposing parties.

  • Ensuring governance processes are followed in construction matters.

  • Handling delay claims and construction contract disputes.

  • Monitoring and improving client contracts, processes, and training.

  • Managing a caseload and supporting team members.

  • Identifying improvements to internal processes.

  • Keeping updated on legal, regulatory, and industry changes.

  • Providing legal training to client teams.

  • Recording time, meeting KPIs, and gathering client feedback.

The successful candidate:

  • 3 + years PQE in construction law.
  • A knowledge and understanding of drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, construction contract disputes & dispute resolution, joint ventures, framework agreements, and governance advice, etc.
  • Excellent at building client relationships and explaining legal matters clearly.
  • Able to manage a diverse caseload independently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Business-minded with a proactive approach to development and growth.
  • Flexible, solution-oriented, and strong at problem-solving.
  • Ability to work alone and confidently take ownership of tasks.
  • Eagerness to build expertise in new areas of law or technical understanding.
