Sellick Partnership are currently supporting a fantastic charity who are searching for a part time 2nd line engineer to support their IT function. If you are looking to work 2 days a week and with a range of IT software and hardware this is a great opportunity.

2nd Line Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Ordering, setting up and arranging delivery of laptops, for all new staff members and replacement devices for existing staff as needed, and arranging for wiping and secure disposal of old devices.
  • Directly supporting, both remotely and in person, 65 users of IT accounts, with a wide range of laptops, and users of over 130 mobile phones and dongles.
  • Ensuring all software, not covered by an external providder, patching is updated on a regular basis (inc MS365 monthly updates, ad hoc OS and browser updates) and trouble shooting/resolving issues as they arise.
  • Maintaining the asset registers, including proactively identifying when hardware or software is nearing end of life/support and implementing upgrades/replacements as needed.
  • Liaising closely with an IT system provider to ensure all services delivered are appropriate, timely and of good quality, including ongoing licences/helpdesk and CE+ remediations.
  • Liaising with hardware providers and mobile phone providers overseeing contract reviews and purchasing of equipment.
  • Responding to cybersecurity related elements of bids and to ad hoc queries from commissioners.
  • Reviewing and updating ICT related policies and processes, making recommendations for any changes or improvements to future proof our systems.
  • Reviewing all ICT provision to ensure cost effectiveness, and to identify any areas where costs could be reduced without loss of the functionality or cybersecurity requirements of our contracts and service delivery.
