Jake joined the ICT & Digital Technology team at Sellick Partnership in March 2021. Working from our Newcastle office, Jake progressed from a Recruitment Consultant to Senior Consultant in June 2022. He works closely with various companies across the Private and Public sectors, providing recruitment solutions on an interim, contract and permanent basis. We spoke to him recently about his experience at Sellick Partnership.
After coming home from the States, I was guiding other young athletes through the process of getting a scholarship and talking to different universities and it had similarities to recruitment. I realised that I could do something similar and make more money.
After speaking with the team during the interview process it seemed like a no brainer. I got a real understanding of how much they were all invested in the business and the amount of opportunity that is available here is massive. Everyone wants you to do well and progress as much as possible.
I remember my first permanent placement. It is a great feeling when they say yes because of the amount of time you spend going through the process with each candidate. The first thing I did after was double check the fee, knowing I would be taking home a portion of the fee as commission was a real morale boost.
