Overview of Nikki

I am an established and passionate recruitment leader, having started my career in 2005 at Sellick Partnership, after relocating from Belfast to England… whist I miss The Emerald Isle and visit often, I haven’t looked back.

At the beginning of my career, I was headhunted by Jo Sellick to assist in the establishment of the West Midlands public and not-for-profit sector market. In 2009, I established our office in Derby, extending our offering of high-quality recruitment solutions to the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and East of England areas. Due to our central location and coveted reputation, this has since grown to include clients further South.

After numerous promotions, in 2018 I proudly stepped into a Group Director and Board member role, which includes playing a key role in the strategic direction and growth of our business. Investing in the quality of our people is fundamental to the success and growth of our company.

Given my expertise, my role is centred on supporting the ever-growing public and not-for-profit teams, and I am passionate about ensuring our strategy is based on high quality solutions and being proactive to market changes, all whilst maintaining our values and unique culture.

Other key responsibilities include overseeing tenders and bids for the business, as well as heading up the public sector compliance function, and taking on the role of ISO 9001 Director. Maintaining this standard is testament to our commitment to quality management, transparency and improvement.

Outside of work, as well as being a devoted mum to my beautiful and high-spirted daughter, I sit on the Board of Trustees for Derbyshire-based charity me&dee. me&dee is an award-winning and small, yet impactful, charity that organises holidays, memory making activities and trips away for children and adults with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.

I met Maria Hanson MBE, Founder of me&dee, in 2014 when judging the not-for-profit sector award at the Derby Telegraph Business Awards, through Sellick Partnership. me&dee’s vision immediately struck a chord with me, and I continue to be inspired by the wonderful work that Maria and the team do on a daily basis. I couldn’t pass the opportunity to get involved and Sellick Partnership have supported and encouraged me on this journey, which is something I’ll always be grateful for.

Through my longstanding judging at the Derby Telegraph Business Awards and my role at Sellick Partnership, I was honoured to be named in the Derby Telegraph 'Inspirational 250' list on a number of occasions, which encompassed 250 handpicked individuals from Derbyshire’s business community who they felt were making an inspiring contribution to the economic prosperity of our region.
